[Me playing bagpipe]

One of my more recent interests is learning to play Swedish bagpipes. Much smaller than their Scottish counterparts, they can be played in normal apartments without too much fuss from angry neighbours.

I'm also quite fond of singing, especially in harmonies. When I studied in London, I used to sing in the school choire. Nowadays I don't have time for that, but when possible I sing with a few of my friends.

Since I've got a fairly good memory for texts, I love medieval ballads and other nontrivial songs. There is something special about a song which you can sing for more than twenty minutes even though you know only a small part of it...

Swedish or not, bagpipes ring of Scotland, home of one of my weaknesses: single malts. I'm particularly fond of Laphroig, Lagavulin and Talisker.

I also like reading. My favourite categories are fantasy and science fiction. Tolkien and his Lord of the Rings remains my favourite. Asimov with the Foundation trilogy comes a close second. The first Dragonlance books were very good, with Raistlin as the lead character. I liked the SSI gold box games in that series as well.
